Hacking

Whenever you need information or access in an illicit way (that isn't straight lockpicking, which falls under Burglary), you use the Hacking skill.

Hacking is using the weaknesses of the human mind to your advantage, by playing into their world (wetware): acting as if you are someone in the corporate environment thanks to names you found in their dumpster, using call forwarding to seem that you're in the building, and so on... Or by using exploits, weaknesses in their programming, social media, phishing,.. to gain illicit access to their network. Generally it's a mixture of both, hacking is rarely "fast".

Overcome: You can use hacking to overcome security systems, but this requires time. Most security systems are NOT linked to the outside world, so being on-site is usually a necessity. You can also use this to convince personnel in seeing you as someone that's required to be on-site, or at least ignore you. It's much harder to use on security personnel as they usually require some form of ID unless they've seen you before.

Create advantage: You can use your contacts, exploits, botnets, dumpster-diving skills to set up elaborate ruses and advantages that will make further "hacks" easier to accomplish, or other people's attempts at subterfuge much easier. Examples: Ah, the technicians have arrived, So you're Frank from Security,...

Attack: Hacking is never used as a form of attack, computer-hacker battles only exist in movies.

D

Defend: Hacking is not really useful to defend yourself with, though it could provide advantages (locked doors, scrambled badges,...) that could make not getting attacked easier.

Stunts

• PEBKAC You're great at reading people, and can easily ingratiate yourself with the employees, letting enough mumbo-jumbo slip by to settle their suspicions. You can use Hacking as a substitute to Deceive as long as it's in a corporate environment (and not to Security personnel or people higher up the chain).
• Hacker. You're great at quickly programming useful tools to aid people in gathering, sorting and storing information. Any search for information takes only half the time in addition to a free invoke-able advantage on a create advantage roll for other skills.
• The password is "god". You know many of the pit-falls of the Internet Age, which translates into getting a free insight once a day, related to computer or internet security, you get to further the scene without needing to pay a Fate point.
